Jamae Masjid Aqsa, on the left side of the big door of Bait-ul-Maqdas there is a well that is known as BASR-WARQA. Many hadith exist about this well, one of which Hazrat Abu-Bakr bin abi-maryam رضی اللہ عنہا copied from Hazrat Attiya bin Qais رضی اللہ عنہا.The hadith is that :
“From within my Umma there shall be a person who shall walk with his very own feet to enter paradise within this life.”
It was the reign of Hazrat Farooq Azam and رضی اللہ عنہا some people came to Bait-ul-Maqdas to offer prayer. Within them was a person called bin khabashta belonging to the tribe of banu tamim. He came to the well of BASR-WARQA and while getting some water his container fell within the well and so he stepped into the well to retrieve it. While in the well he found a door in the wall of the well and opened it to find exquisite gardens. Entering those gardens he began to roam around and on his way back he tore a leaf from the tree of olives and placed it on his ear. Coming out of the well he told the caretaker of the well about what happened inside. The caretaker sent some people along with Hazrat Shareeq bin khabashta to verify this incident but they found no such door. When asked about the reason for his false statement, Hazrat Shareeq bin khabashta showed everyone the reason the leaf that he had brought along and upon viewing it everyone was surprised and this event was mentioned to the khalifa of that time,Hazrat Umar رضی اللہ عنہا.he رضی اللہ عنہا replied back that: look if this leaf changes its size, colour or state then it is not from the Jannah but if it remains as it then it is from the Jannah because there can be change in the things of the Jannat. That leaf remained as it is and it was surely a very unique leaf since it could hide a whole person within itself but could also be hid within the palm of any person.
This event is mentioned by ‘moorakh bkhair-ud-din abdur-rehman bin Muhammad al amri al hanmbili’ in his book ‘al-innis al jalil btarikh al aqdas o wal-khalil’ in the chapter named ‘zikr saffa al masjid’.
